Toyota is diving into the reproduction of parts for its beloved Supra, specifically focusing on the 1993-2002 Mk4 ‘A80’ model. This initiative, known as the GR Heritage Parts Project, aims to recreate over 300 components across eight different Toyota models, including the Supra, Corolla AE86 coupe, and various Land Cruiser series.
The project’s primary goal is to ensure that owners of these vintage vehicles can maintain their cars using genuine, replicated parts. The reproduced A80 Supra dashboard, for instance, will utilize modern materials and manufacturing techniques while retaining the original plastic grain for visual accuracy.
This effort is part of a broader trend in the automotive industry to revolutionize vehicle ownership by making it easier to keep classic cars on the road.
As previously mentioned, Toyota has been successful in reproducing parts since 2019, with the A80 Supra dashboard joining over 300 other components available across eight models. The instrument panel is set to roll out in September, exclusively through GR Garage locations and Toyota dealerships in Japan. Its availability outside of Japan remains uncertain, despite the significant following these vehicles have globally.
